Abstract
In the present work a metallurgical simulator of the floating column circuit of the Las Tórtolas 2 concentrator plant is developed with the aim of being used as part of the operational decision system. In the first instance, the phenomenological models were selected and analyzed in order to recognize the variables that determine the operation of the columnar flotation circuit. Then, the information available in the plant was studied in order to identify which of these variables are obtained from plant measurements. Given that an important part of the information required for feeding the simulator is not available online, the estimation of these variables is made based on metallurgical sampling, mineralogical tests, chemical tests, but mainly, from the simulation of the stage of retrieval-classification using the computer tool Molycop Tools.Once the variables were established, the simulator was configured according to the characteristics of the plant. However, given the lack of information related to the flow and the law of tailings of the columns, it was parameterized only in relation to the law of the final concentrate, and not with respect to the recovery of the columns. The adjustment also considered the effect of the type of mineralogical species (chalcopyrite, chalcocite, pyrite and gangue) and rougher metallurgical performance of the type of mineralogical sample being fed.It was determined, for the data group with rougher metallurgical performance between 80 - 85 [%], a prediction uncertainty of ± 2.90 [%], however, it was verified that the prediction uncertainty decreases to ± 1.56 [ %] when operating with air flows between 900 to 1100 [m3 / h]. On the other hand, it was observed that for the group of data that considers rougher metallurgical performance between 70 - 80 [%], an uncertainty of ± 3.45 [%].The sources of errors that determine the prediction uncertainty are related to(...).
